A day out in the Arabian dunes with Exotic Rentals & Retreats
By Exotic Rentals & Retreats
Exciting alchemy of lifelong traditions and unimaginably ambitious futuristic pursuits, all in a sprawling desert city, it is impossible not to admire Dubai. From dining at a Creekside restaurant in Al Seef or atop the Burj al Arab to swimming amongst dolphins at the Aquaventure Waterpark, Dubai is a city straight out of a fairytale. As perfect for a vacation as it is a top shopping getaway, this beautiful Emirati city is a no-ordinary destination. Spend your mornings strolling along Jumeirah Beach, sail across Dubai Creek for a sumptuous lunch at a Creekside restaurant before winding the day at Burj al Arab’s Skyview bar.

The only city where you can soak up the sun, ice-skate and ski, or go on surfing and scuba-diving expeditions. Or, rent a Rolls Royce, Porsche, Audi, Range Rover, or Mercedes or pretty much any luxury car for a couple of Dirhams and vrooming through the 8-late Sheikh Zayed Road. Dubai is a city straight out of a fairytale. It is a shopper’s paradise, a lovebird’s ultimate honeymooning destination, a gearhead's paradise and still a perfect hub for business. And for all those flying in, many end up falling in love with its charm and glamor.

For starters, Dubai is a city whose indefatigable vigor and undying quest for record-breaking infrastructure can’t be rivaled. Its audaciously tall skyscrapers piercing into the sky, the world’s largest man-made island of Palm Jumeirah, and mind-boggling technological innovations justify Dubai as being an epic destination. In Dubai, you can experience how it feels to board a flying taxi or the surreal feeling of being inside a lightning-fast Hyperloop train. You can enjoy panoramic views of the city’s skyline atop the observation deck of the 124-floor Burj Al Arab. Or, simply head out on a desert safari. There’s no greater adventure for a tourist in Dubai more than what this little country has come to be known for – desert safari. Riding a camel in the golden dunes is a different kind of excitement that not even the thrills and spills of the Aquaventure Waterpark in Atlantis the Palm can match.
The thrill, however, goes overboard when, on a desert safari, one switches for a 4X4 SUV, two-wheeler or a quad-bike, and takes for the steep desert hills. Off-roading and sandboarding are best accompanied by traditional barbecues set up in the desert with a bit of partying. And the best part is when it’s a Bedouin-style experience that goes into the night.
Visiting Dubai Aquarium or the Underwater Zoo is another awesome activity to do in Dubai. The aquarium is famed for the friendly dolphins, but it’s even more spectacular walking under the Zoo. At the same Dubai Mall, you may instead opt to go for skiing and ice-skating lessons instead. For those who love indoor amusement parks, visiting Dubai isn’t as exciting as heading to Yas Island in Abu Dhabi where the Ferrari World Abu Dhabi track is located. The 2015 and 2016 "Middle East's Leading Tourist Attraction" and 2017 and 2018 "Middle East's Leading Theme Park" delivers 20 electrifying rides and attractions for everyone, kids included.
If there’s one unique thing about this Ferrari-themed park, then it has to be the excitement one gets upon visiting. Driving a Ferrari Formula One-like coaster car at speeds of 150 miles/hour isn’t exactly what one can do on an ordinary day. But at this park, such is just part of the thrill. There’s also a theme park with the world’s fastest roller coaster, the Formula Rossa!
