As an Italian manufacturer, Ducati is best known for its motorcycles, sportbikes, and street bikes equipped with L-Twin engines. The Ducati company was founded by three Ducati brothers, Bruno, Adriano, and Marcello in 1926. Initially, the company was not manufacturing motorcycles, but rather radio equipment until World War II begins. After that, the founders rethought their strategy and began to work on four-stroke engines and finally in 1945, the production of their first motorcycle was done. During the starting years of the '50s, the Ducati was producing stand-alone motor scooters, however, by the end of the decade, it was marking its name in the racing world.

A big credit of this landmark is given to Ducati engineer Fabio Taglioni, who made Ducati’s desmodromic valve system. Furthermore, Taglioni’s developments included the creation of numerous successful Ducati Singles. It was the proud moment for Ducati when its 250 Twin was raced by the greatest rider in the history of motorcycle racing “English legend Mike Hailwood”.

To date, Ducati has a long legacy rooting back almost a century ago, it has produced a range of top-quality motorcycles with great power and innovative designs. Currently, the group is owned by German automotive manufacturer Audi through its Italian subsidiary Volkswagen Group.
