Bespoke adventures in the South of Spain compliments of Exotic Rentals & Retreats
By Exotic Rentals & Retreats
Tour the magnificent Marbella, part of Southern Spain’s autonomous Nueva Andalucía community, and a bustling beautiful and conspicuously extravagant tourist showroom. Like a coastal town straight out of a fairytale, the little city is an open show of opulence with star-studded yachts, Michelin-star restaurants, and an unmistakable breeze of serenity. Marbella is the first stop among tourists visiting the southern end of Spain. This humble city sits adjacent to the mighty Mediterranean Sea, right in the middle of Malaga and the Strait of Gibraltar. And for most of those who flock this little paradise, warm weather coupled with the tourist-friendly amenities top their major reasons for making a stop.
Visit Southern Spain’s flashiest Marina, Puerto Banús, and marvel at the endless number of luxury yachts docked at the bay. Talking a stall on a calm evening just before sunset, the marina is mystical with all types of luxury cars and extravagant yachts. The sight is unreal! Perhaps you could rent a luxury car in Marbella with Exotic Rentals & Retreats and join the party or simply head down for a lovely seaside dinner after a day of sightseeing and adventure.
The unmissable ‘Golden Mile,’ a glorious seafront promenade with beautiful, golden sandy beaches and a host of lovely beachfront homes, villas, and mansions, is a few miles away from the Marina. And strolling this 4-mile stretch, or biking along the motorway is surreal. It is a chance to witness lots of five-star hotels, golf courses, and stop by the lush gardens whose marvelous blooms astound. Some golf courses are invitation-only clubs, but given the fact that Southern Andalusia has an overabundance of them, you may pop into one affordable no-frills option and practice how to tee.
Still, at this quaint tourist town, walking down its narrow streets and alleyways, admiring the colorful flowers on each home’s balcony is an experience of a lifetime. Birds singing joyfully and the local hospitality amidst the breathtaking façade easily ignites the long-gone memories of a walk in the jungle. Ending your walk at the 16th-century Moorish-style palace with over 4,000 etchings and engravings from some of the best Spanish artists, it will be a trip of a lifetime. Other charming spots one must visit in Marbella include Alameda Park – a park that is so cute and well-preserved that one could think it’s a private garden. The park is so incredibly beautiful and romantic. Sitting beneath the chic tropical foliage, admiring the water fountains, lovebirds may come back again and again. Avenida del Mar is another incredible spot where driving under the meticulously-trimmed hedges feels surreal.
If ancient Spanish history fascinates, then be sure to learn a little about the history and tradition of Marbella at the Old Town - Casco Antiguo. There, you will love the remains of the original Roman city walls and chic shops dating back to the 16th century. You could even pop in a tapas bar or coffee shop to interact with the amiable locals. A few pictures of the Plaza de Los Naranjos, especially the fragrant orange trees and the attractive Castilian Renaissance architecture as you relax may easily color your Instagram as well!
